What do Parisians Want from Their New Mayor?

Deputy Editor Elaine Cobbe and camerawoman Celine Marchand ventured into the streets and asked them.

Paris has a new mayor. Socialist Emmanuel Grégoire now holds the top job in the French capital following elections in March. His new majority is a coalition of left-wing groups – but excluding the far-left La France Insoumise (LFI) – and the Greens.

He beat conservative rival Rachida Dati in the second round, with 50.52 percent of the vote. Grégoire, 48, is no stranger to Paris City Hall - he spent several years as first deputy to outgoing mayor Anne Hidalgo, who reigned over the city for 12 years.

So, what do Parisians really want from their new mayor?
