Such a lovely description of Père-Lachaise cemetery. despite having visited many times, I didn’t know.

Had a wonderful time there, though it was only a few hours. I'll have to revisit. My favorite area was at the roundabout by the Tombe et Statue de Casimir Perier.

Thanks for this interesting, informative look at Père-Lachaise with great photos of things to look for on my next visit. I also was happy to learn more about its history.

My husband, Jean Lesieur, is buried there now…just up the way from Jim Morrison. Such a beautiful place, so green and peaceful.

Yes, I know that your husband Jean is buried there. Philippe attended the funeral and wanted to see you and express his sympathy but there were too many people. I unfortunately was unable to come. It is indeed a beautiful place. If you are free the next time you visit, let me know. I would love to see you again.
